The Beginning

Founded in Kings Lynn in 1975, We Are Coffee Co began as a family roastery with a singular mission: to bring exceptional coffee to everyone. What started as a small operation has grown into over five decades of roasting heritage, but our founding principles remain unchanged.

Our Glasgow Roastery

Our Glasgow facility houses an IMF 120kg production roaster alongside a 30kg precision roaster for small-batch speciality runs. Every batch is SALSA-certified for food safety, and every lot is individually profiled.

We believe roasting is both science and art, and we've had over 50 years to master both.

We work with suppliers who source directly from farmers across Central America, East Africa, and South-East Asia through lasting trade relationships. Every bean is SCA-scored 84+, officially speciality grade.

From sourcing the green beans to profiling each roast and delivering to your door, we control every step of the journey.

We have Q graders who can taste the difference between processing methods, flavour specialists who've spent years perfecting natural infusion techniques, and blend masters who know how to balance brightness with body for the everyday cup. We don't believe any one way of enjoying coffee is better than another. We believe they're all worth doing well.

That's what makes We Are Coffee Co different. We're not a single-origin-only brand that looks down on blends. We're not a flavoured coffee company that can't do speciality. We're the place where the 84+ scored Kenyan sits alongside the Irish Cream, where the office subscription lives next to the gift box, and where every bag is roasted with the same care on our IMF roasters in Glasgow.

Founded Italian Aroma Coffee in 1995. Three decades of Italian coffee tradition and commercial expertise. Brought Giambastiani Holdings into the WACC story, connecting the brand to a wider network of coffee companies and unlocking the investment that made the Glasgow roastery possible.

Career spanning major brands including Lavazza. Part of Giambastiani Holdings through U-Roast. Brings deep roasting and sourcing expertise that keeps WACC's quality bar where it needs to be.
