Burni Telong

Bener Meriah, Aceh

Every bean of our Burni Telong coffee narrates a story of precise sourcing and judicious selection. We source this particular lot from 60 dedicated local farmers in Bener Meriah, Aceh, Sumatra, under the experienced guidance of our local collector, Mahdi.

The traditional wet-hulled processing method, unique to Sumatra, creates the deep, earthy character this coffee is known for. Combined with a dark roast profile, the result is a bold, full-bodied cup with notes of dark chocolate and cedar.

Awesome taste

Its strong, bold there is a nice punch and the after taste is good. Will definitely order again. De'longhi Dinamica Grinder set to 3.5 and high temp is the perfect setting to get the best taste for this bean

Lovely Smooth Rich Taste

Bought this as a Christmas present for my coffee loving husband. He really enjoyed it! Lovely smooth, rich taste with some chocolatey tones. Not too acidic, no bitterness, just a lovely brew . A good solid coffee with a good grind for cafetieres and filter machines. Needed to grind it down a little for our pod machine. Would buy again.

A good if unremarkable coffee

Ground in a manual grinder, brewed in a cafetière and served in a mug with a splash oat milk and half a teaspoon of Muscovado sugar, these beans result in a good, if unremarkable, mug of coffee. It’s not the strongest coffee and it looks incredibly clear after brewing, but the end result is a smooth, bitter free tasting coffee. I do sometimes prefer something stronger and more bitter for my first mug of the day, but thereafter this will be fine. More expensive perhaps than some brands you’ll find on the shelves of supermarkets, but possibly worth it.

Nece aroma and tastes good.

Great looking bag of coffee beans. Got the 227g bag and ground to powder. Great smell on opening the bag and once ground.
Makes a nice cup of coffee, subtle flavours and not overly strong.
Priced around £7.50 a bag it's not the cheapest but is good quality.

High quality and absolutely full of flavour, highly recommended!

These are some incredibly flavoursome beans and no matter whether you like a plain black coffee, espresso or even a latte they taste and smell amazing!

They come nicely packed inside a well-illustrated pouch and the ones I received had 11 months before their BBE date.

You can smell the aroma before you even open the bag, and they are a very smoky and full-bodied bean. There is a lot going on with these and there’s tons of flavour, especially a nice strong dark chocolate taste. I love enjoying this coffee first thing in the morning before I've had anything else, it really gives you a nice kick start to your day.

Overall, I think these beans are very high quality and they taste wonderful. They are quite expensive, but it is justified by their quality and where they come from. While I wouldn’t buy them all the while it’s a certainly a nice treat every now and then.

It’s a product I’m more than happy to recommend and I feel they are easily worth the full five stars, buy with confidence!

Nice, but not cheap.

This dark roast coffee is quite nice and if you have the luxury to grind your own fresh coffee beans yourself, it always makes it more special, as you can really taste the freshness and intensity.
Being a dark roast, the intensity is very strong with a deep earthy kind of burnt flavour and fragrance.
I grind these beans myself, as I don't have a bean-to-coffee machine, and it's not too difficult. Then I just tip the ground coffee into a filter coffee machine, and a nice cup of coffee is brewed.
The flavours are good and I do enjoy it, although I prefer medium roast, since I'm not a big fan of the "burnt" taste from dark roast.
The bag is not resealable, so once opened the beans will need to be transferred to an airtight container to keep the coffee beans fresh, otherwise they'll lose their fragrance and be ruined in no time.
£7.49 for 227g is quite expensive though, but I don't think this is as premium as the price makes it out to be, so the price isn't justified in my opinion.

Lovely deep coffee !

This is perfect coffee for a deep, gorgeous flavour. I’ve used it in my coffee bean machine for guests and everyone has complained the taste of the coffee. Would highly recommend!
